When it comes to bringing the best food and drink to the dinner table, there can be no substitutes for safety and quality.
For 37 years, Tokyo-based firm O’will Corporation has worked to do exactly that, importing and exporting the best foods to some of the biggest markets in the world, always putting customer satisfaction first. Whether it’s selling global brands domestically or exporting functional food and drinks to markets such as South America, standards are equally high. “Quality management is integral to the food industry. In other words, taste and safety are vital,” said Kazuki Date, the company’s president. As well as working to maintain this reputation, the business is committed to growth at home and overseas.
With the processed food and beverage sector worth 20 trillion yen ($134 billion), O’will sees great potential for increased sales as it seeks to attract new partners and extend its range to include items such as seafood. The company is also working to expand its global markets while increasing its existing interests in North America, China and Southeast Asia, with the aim of multiplying sales tenfold in the next decade. “It’s all about how we can build trustworthy relationships with clients.
“We are always telling our employees that continuing to do traditional or ‘ordinary’ things over the years will contribute to strong, lasting ties,” said Date. The business has also enjoyed great success with a new environmental services division that develops wastewater treatment, energy-efficient ceiling fans and steam nozzles to reduce leakage. The new venture was sparked by clients’ concerns about their own existing systems, inspiring the O’will Corporation team to apply its expertise and connections to the issue. “Environmental equipment is gaining relevance rapidly, so I hope to expand and further develop this in the near future,” said Date.
