Mi-Ne Seisaku-sho Co., Ltd. – On Track for Success

With over 30,000 kilometers of railways and more than 7 billion passengers annually —including over 400,000 daily on the Tokaido Shinkansen (bullet train)—Japan is a nation powered by trains. To meet this demand, Japan has built a world-class railway system now being exported overseas. Mi-Ne Seisakusho, a Tokyo-based railway engineering firm with 100 years of history, has long supported many of Japan’s most iconic lines. “In Japan, we live in a culture where the railway system has to be punctual and reliable, which is a strong feature that we can utilize when we add value to overseas markets,” said President Toshiaki Mine. “Most tourists coming to Japan are amazed by the safety and punctuality of our railway system. Overseas, we are now working to support local railway systems in places such as the Philippines, Myanmar and India,” he added. Mi-Ne has contributed to projects such as JAXA’s Tanegashima Space Center and the Seikan Tunnel, the longest tunnel of its kind in the world. Now, it is actively working on the Hokkaido Shinkansen extension. “For the latest extension to Sapporo, we have gained a contract to supply welding services and providing switches. For us, it is our proudest achievement,” said Mine.
