Japanese chemical manufacturing company Dojindo Laboratories is renowned for pioneering new products crucial to the creation of medical treatments.
Dojindo Laboratories has been a vital part of global research and development in chemical manufacturing for almost 80 years — and it continues to push boundaries today. The Japanese company specializes in organic chemistry, with its roots beginning in the development of reagents for environmental analysis. Now, it is expanding its work to also include biomolecular technology.
Dojindo has achieved great success with its ready-to-use kits in the reagent industry, which traditionally uses powders. Recently, the company has released plasticware integrated with reagents, allowing for simplified biofilm measurements. In addition to its expanding product portfolio, the company is making moves globally, now operating bases in nine locations worldwide, including the U.S., Germany, China, and Malaysia, with its central headquarters in Kumamoto, Japan.
”Dojindo Laboratories has developed the Cell Counting Kit-8, which is globally used for cell proliferation and cytotoxicity assays. Currently, we are targeting issues such as neurodegenerative and age-related diseases as well as cancer, all while accelerating new product development,” said CEO Yuichiro Ueno.
With a proud record of being involved in shaping science and development, the company is now pursuing a more direct role in supporting research with the launch of the Dojindo Foundation.
“The ultimate goal of the foundation is to foster a new generation of researchers, so that we can ensure Japan remains competitive in the global landscape,” said Ueno.
