Asahi Kasei Homes Corporation – Building a New Tomorrow

Asahi Kasei Homes has been a leader in sustainable housing since the 1970s, providing high-quality, durable homes.

Its flagship Hebel Haus brand revolutionized the industry, introducing advanced prefabrication for durable, stylish homes. Based on its “LONGLIFE” philosophy, Asahi Kasei Homes ensures the long-term comfort of their customers by providing a wide range of services as well as their long-lasting homes. “We conduct complimentary, periodic house checks for up to 60 years,” said company President Fumitoshi Kawabata.

The firm has also made bold strides in sustainability, becoming Japan’s first homebuilder to achieve RE100 (Renewable Energy 100%) status. Moreover, they became the first Japanese company to win the “Enterprising Leader” title at the RE100 Leadership Awards 2024.

Expanding internationally with operations in the United States and Australia, Asahi Kasei Homes aims to grow beyond its 28% share of current sales. In Australia, it formed a capital alliance with McDonald Jones Homes in 2017, acquired the steel frame supplier Supaloc and launched NEX Building Group in 2021. Now, NEX operates on the East Coast, trading as McDonald Jones Homes, Brighton Homes and Arden Homes, among others.

Recently, Asahi Kasei Homes established a land development arm to provide NEX customers with ready-built homes and easy access to land. “We aim to become Australia’s leading residential building group by establishing a competitive advantage that cannot be achieved by a builder or supplier working alone,” said Kawabata.
